In today’s audio world, digital audio systems have surpassed people’s expectations and dare we say, becoming the go-to systems over the more traditional counterparts. Many audio formats exist and are in use today....Formats such as Dante, AVB/MILAN, Cobranet, Ethersound, MADI, AES3, AES50, MADI, and Analog are all still in use and can be found in many installations dating back 20+ years. AV professionals are faced with the difficult challenge of designing/retrofitting new systems to work with existing infrastructures and need help designing solutions that can bridge these audio technologies.
This course will cover the advantages and disadvantages of these AoiP formats and what solutions exist to bridge these technologies effectively and reliably.

1:00PM • System Design of Toronto's Iconic Scotiabank Arena

Modern sports franchises face increasing challenges to bring fans out of their homes and into the communal space of an arena or stadium. Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena has accepted this challenge with a huge audio upgrade bringing full power, full spectrum, top to bottom coverage and spatial movement with a new Meyer Sound Panther/2100-LFC/Spacemap GO system. The installation was a multi-level collaboration of parties including the venue ownership, Canadian consulting firm Engineering Harmonics, integration partner Aligned Vision Group, Gerraudio Distribution and Meyer Sound. The needs of both the Maple Leafs and Raptors, as well as future concert productions were all factored into the design and installation.
At Demo Days, attendees will gain a unique perspective on the design and optimization of this iconic venue, led by industry legend 6o6 McCarthy. Joining him are Ian Robertson of GerrAudio, along with Josh Dorn-Fehrmann and David Vincent from Meyer Sound, all of whom played pivotal roles in the design and tuning stages of the project. During the session, Bob will share the MAPP design files, installation photos, and Smaart data, offering a deep dive into the process behind this collaboration.
